The origin story

Garnet is the birthstone for January. Red garnets were the most commonly used gemstones in the Late Antique Roman world. Its name comes from the Latin granatum meaning pomegranate, as the crystal represents the seeds of this delicious fruit. In Persia this birth gem was considered a talisman from nature's forces like storm and lightning. Garnet is thought to be one of the oldest crystals used for spiritual protection throughout history. It is a stone of prosperity and abundance, encouraging gratitude and service to others and symbolizes love and friendship.
